Tom's Plan:

Reduce Housing Costs

Housing is too expensive because Alaska does not have enough homes where people need them. Land is tight, approvals take too long, and infrastructure costs make projects hard to build.

Unlock more housing

As Governor, I will:

  • Open up more land for housing

  • Work with the Mental Health Trust, the University of Alaska, and state agencies

  • Focus on land near communities that can support new homes

  • Unlock state land for housing where supply is constrained

More available land in the right places means more homes can actually get built, helping reduce housing pressure over time.

Make housing easier to build

As Governor, I will:

  • Speed up approvals

  • Make the process more predictable

  • Coordinate roads, utilities, and access

  • Partner with builders, tribes, and local communities

When projects take less time, face fewer delays, and cost less to build, more housing becomes financially possible for Alaska families.
