Tom Begich, Made in Alaska
I was shaped by the values that define our state: self-reliance, independence, and taking care of one another.
And today, I won’t sit by and watch the Alaskan Dream die.

I was raised by parents who lived the Alaska Dream.
I know the value of a hard day’s work. I know that resilience is what truly makes Alaska special. We solve our own problems by rolling up our sleeves getting the job done.
I have done exactly that as a State Senator, small business owner, and local community leader. I have fought for a stronger economy, a dependable education system, and an energy plan that lowers costs for Alaskans for decades to come.

A Moment of Peace...
I spent years working in communities across Alaska — from Anchorage to Ketchikan to the Northwest Arctic and Western Alaska — long before I ever ran for office. I worked on public safety, youth programs, community planning, and economic development.
I didn’t run for the Senate to build my resume, I ran because I had seen things broken firsthand, I wanted to help fix them, and I knew I could.
A few years ago, I stepped back from the State Senate because I believed Alaska was moving in the right direction. My wife Sarah and I returned to the work that has always grounded us — organizing, facilitating, education, music, and poetry.
But we were shaken by what we saw was happening to our state. Alaskans are being stretched thin now more than ever.

Alaska Is Being Run Like Decline Is Normal And That’s Not Okay.
Alaska’s been steered off course. The Governor struggles to work and communicate with a strong bipartisan coalition, and that failure is contributing to Alaska’s stark decline.
Schools are closing. The future of the PFD – and even the Permanent Fund itself – could be in doubt. Grocery and fuel costs are rising. Health care is expensive and hard to access. And young Alaskans are fleeing to the Lower 48, never to return.
I won’t accept that Alaska’s next generation will inherit a weaker, poorer, less dependable home while many of our leaders keep making excuses.
Together We Will Revive the Alaska Dream

We Will Build a Future Made in Alaska.
My campaign for Governor is more than an intervention to put the state back on track. It is our opportunity to build a future made in Alaska…
A future where kids stay in Alaska and build their lives here…
A future with an economy where businesses thrive, and where families can get ahead…
A future where Alaska stands on its own again.
We can make Alaska self-reliant again, together. Both Sarah and I will be on the road throughout the campaign. We look forward to meeting you and talking to you as we revive the Alaska Dream together.
